Gas safety in Hounslow: the local picture
Hounslow's stock includes individual gas-heated houses in Heston and Hanworth as well as Brentford apartments where heat may be supplied communally. Confirm the actual appliances and system before requesting a landlord gas safety check. For Chiswick conversions, explain where the boiler, meter and flue are located and whether access crosses another part of the building. Peachtree Maintenance can coordinate the instruction and digital records, with findings and any proposed remedial work separated so the landlord understands what the inspection has established.
What the rules say
Where a rented home has gas appliances, flues or pipework provided by the landlord, the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 require a safety check by a Gas Safe registered engineer every 12 months. The engineer records the result on a landlord gas safety record.
Existing tenants should receive a copy within 28 days of the check and new tenants before they move in. Records are kept for at least two years. A check carried out up to two months before the due date can keep the original renewal date.
